Natural Ear Music School is located in South Austin, near the intersection of Ben White and South Congress. Visitors are welcome; we are open Monday thru Thursday 3pm-8pm and by appointment. Call 512 447-5910 for directions and consultations.
Summer hours: 11AM through 7:00PM weekdays. Winter hours: 3:30PM-8PM weekdays.
Natural Ear Music School organizes kid bands, and we currently rehearse two dozen different bands each week. These bands perform at student festivals, concerts and local music venues; we are always in demand for parties and school functions, as well as hosting our own all-school shows. We were, to our best knowledge, the first 'school of rock' anywhere in the world. We teach music strictly by ear - no paper.
If you are ready to enroll, download and fill out the form(s) below and send it with payment. Enrollment is open and dynamic. If you want private lessons, please contact any of the coaches (click the 'music coaches' button on the left) I don't book private lessons, only bands.
Spring School Year Semester
Band signup starts in January and continues until each group has six members. Each band has practice 2 hours per week and play at the final show in May. Performance bands will play as often as possible, in a variety of venues.

Natural Ear Music Camp is a unique experience for budding musicians!
Pros lead each group through the process of creating a new band and a three song setlist to be performed at a local music venue. Skilled coaching in classic rocknroll and a high energy show create an unforgetable experience.
We teach girls and boys drums, guitar, bass, keys and vocals. No sheet music, no sightreading or playing baby stuff - we love beginners, showoffs and comedians.
Ages 7 to 17; nobody gets easy songs here. Humans, even little ones, like complexity. Check out the videos!

Kids from all over the world come to stay in the beautiful Hill Country, sleep late (so they can stay up late) to catch the music that makes Austin, Texas famous.
12 days of nonstop rocknroll lifestyle, including all meals at local restaurants… NO DORM FOOD! July 11th - 23rd, ages 13-18; coached by Austin's most amazing musicians.
Final performance will be onstage at a local music venue. Check out the videos!
